Forget your security deposit.

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2003
I enjoyed living at Geneva Meadows, never had a problem with the management....until I moved out.
I lived in the apartment for 1 year. I cleaned the apartment to the specifications of the checkout list the complex supplied me with. About two weeks after moving out I received a letter stating that I would not be given back my $600 security deposit and that I owed them $70 more! Some of the charges: Floor behind refriderator dirty ($40) Furnace filter not changed ($30) (this was not on the checkout sheet eiter) Hole in screen ($30) Nail holes spackled, not sanded ($15 each)
I had 3 small burn holes in the carpet from a candle that broke (all within a 1ft square) The wanted to replace the entire livingroom carpet as well as the hallway carpet ($450) They claimed the bathroom carpet had to be replaced too (the bathroom was tile) The lease also has an addendum that YOU must have the carpets professionally cleaned (which I did) They charged me $90 and said I didn't.
Overall, they were VERY sleezy! Do NOT rent here!
I did end up getting over $300 back from my deposit (after retaining a lawyer)
