Owners of this place own a bunch throught Madison. They only care about profit - they don't even care about their employees.

My story -
While I was there, they went through about 5 managers, each lasting about 3-4 months. And in my opinion, it had nothing to do employee failure, but the owners. But my best example of management was at the end of my renting there......

I needed a furnished place (hey, I was in grad school). They had some old stinky brown & black plaid stuff, which they finally upgraded to something nice - except for the beds - which were bad. You had your choice of blue or green color scemes. I wanted blue.

The manager of the place said no problem, but had to fax over a request for the owner to sign for inventory control. This poor girl went nuts for a month trying to get the owner to do anything. Even sadder, the furniture I wanted was across the hall from me in a vacant apt.

Finally, the girl took it upon herself to have maintenance just move it in for me, for the owner still never responded.

3 weeks later, I walked by the office & the owner was there. I could here her through the door yelling at the Cara for doing this. She also claimed that Cara was never around to receive the approval (how about a fax, or even a phone call''' - geez).

She was probably one of the better managers they had there. In her short amount of time there, she spent many hours herself scrubbing walls, cleaning the laundry, and getting to know people in the building, unlike the other managers who were (in my opinion) just trying to survive the owners.

Sadly enough, as I had expected, she was gone 2 weeks later.

Then when it came time for me to move out, they wanted to charge me for the old black & brown stinky furniture! They were selling the old stuff out of the basement for $50 a sofa! I had to get me father's lawyer involved to get out of it & I left the place cleaner than when I moved in.

Bottom line.......

Even a run down shack can be a great home, as long as management/owners care. If the owners don't care, the place will be bad.

So stay away from Allen House, unless you're a rich & stinky college kid who doesn't plan on being there long.
