Great location, some security and resident problems

After reading some of the reviews, I agree with parts, not others. I'm considering moving out because I've had problems with packages delivered to my apartment - other residents sign for them and open them, or the box is left by US mail and someone opens it. This has happened several times. Also, other times, it has taken over a month for my package to arrive - who knows where it sat in the interim. There was another security issue that I won't go into here. I have thought that the management is good and that this is not their fault -- but, there has been a noted deterioration in the type of residents living here, which I think that management could control. As one reviewer mentioned, several persons were inhabiting one apartment -- the same thing has happened in my building. I have no idea who the people are, but have seen a parade of residents in and out of the apartment, which varies by week day. This has been going on for over a year. I got a view of the carpet by their door - black with dirt. I spoke with a former neighbor who moved out, who said that they were having problems with the neighbors. He said that another resident walked into their apartment in the evening (they had not locked the door), which they didn't appreciate. There was a problem with dog waste on the property in the past year - there's several young residents who share apartments with each other, huge German Shepherds and god knows what else. Basically, there's been an influx of young, transient residents, some of whom apparently share one bedrooms because they can't afford to pay the rent on their own. When I first moved in here, there was a mix of ages and types - professional couples in their 40's, families with kids, young couples, single persons of various ages. Now, the residents are mainly under 25 years old, and the environment feels very transient - people staying for a year at most. As for the mold, I've noticed some black spots on my windows, but I was able to clean it easily and it did not bother me. The apartment has GREAT insulation - I can run the air conditioner at night, and the apartment will remain cool on a 90-degree day with just the ceiling fan on. So, if I move, it's because of the ambiance of the neighborhood. What keeps me here is the great location - on several bus routes - and the price isn't too bad.
