The location is great - close to West Towne Mall, Walmart, Target, grocery stores, etc, and commute to downtown and campus is relatively easy. Traffic on the west side of town seems to be better than the east side. The complex seems safe and although there are lots of pets I never hear the animals when I'm inside my apartment. I can sometimes hear music through the walls but it seems reasonable for an apartment. There are lots of floor plans to choose from, and mine is especially good for roommates with one bathroom and one bedroom on each side of the apartment. My experiences with management and maintenance have been pleasant, although it may take a week or so if they are busy. We do have a fair amount of small spiders (daddy long legs) in our apartment, but Raid seems to work well. I haven't specifically noticed mold, but once a friend commented that her allergies were worse in our apartment than in others and that we probably had mold. There is no underground parking so you have to deal with snow in the winter, but overall I've never really had a problem getting a spot right in front of my building. It seems the tenants range from mid-20's to mid-30's and a few have children but not most. There is no pool or fitness center right on the property, but you have access to the clubhouse at the apartments across Watts Road which includes a pool, indoor hot tub, and fitness center with 3 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, a bike, weights (both free and machine), and a tv. I did a lot of searching before I found Heather Valley and it definitely seems to have the most amenities for the money.
