There are definitely drawbacks to any apartment, but I must say, I can't think of many for this apartment complex. On the plus side, the apartments were spacious (cathedral ceilings, spiral staircase, HUGE bathroom). Our apartment was carpeted (clean carpets) and had A LOT of closet space- three double closets..plus more! The insulation was ok regarding the windows- only a slight draft from the balcony door- our heating bills in the winter were a little under $100 a month. The air conditioner worked great in the summer...we also had sky lights in our loft, which were great for sunlight, but were awful when it rained hard. The kitchen was fairly big- big pantry closet and lots of cabinet/counter space. The dishwasher gave us a few problems- leaking and loud- but all in all, decent. As far as the neighborhood/neighbors, we have had pleasant experiences. Walmart is right down the street...as well as Walgreens and a gas station. The traffic outside really isn't that bad. We had one noisy neighbor, but it comes with the territory.
Now for the problems...the laundry room was a disgrace. The washers/dryers were constantly broken. We had to report them to the maintenance team more than 3 times. They also had a problem with our laundry card (which you have to load up with money to use on the machines)- it ended up stealing money which we had to wait for reimbursement. Also, the cabinetry is very outdated. They are a drab beige color- cheap material- that desperately need updating. Also, the decks are very worn- the spacing in between the slats of wood make it easy to see beneath you. The noise level is definitely better than I've dealt with before. The walls are pretty thick- I'd say the noisiest room is the bathroom because of the heat vent.
There are only 12 apartments to a building, which is nice. However, I wouldn't suggest mailing anything important in the drop box- some of our Netflix movies were stolen! Also, my car has been broken into in front of our building, which did not seem to concern the management to a great degree. They mentioned that it was pretty common. Parking is ok- no bugs/spiders/water problems. We always have hot water!

"Also, my car has been broken into in front of our building, which did not seem to concern the management to a great degree." We had this exact same problem on a yearly scale. Our car was broken into no less than twice every year. When we were parked in the underground parking we were told that it was a matter for the police, who took a report by mail and that was all. When two days later I saw a man put a bucket in front of the underground unit's door sensor so the door would not open. The man did it while walking out of the apartment and went right down the hill and off the property. I informed the managment and they told me in no uncertain words to not be a buisy body. That night the underground parking was robbed for yet another time. We moved our car out of the underground garage and directly under a street light that night. Which wasn't easy since the parking lot is not nearly large enough.
