Unfair Discrimination

These apartments discriminate based on unfair business practices. Be very wary of applying to live there. We applied and they turned us down because a neighbor of ours complained that we complained about his loud music, and a young kid who works at for our current apartments accepted it as a valid complaint, and reported it to High Point Woods.
If silly and mistaken reasons like this can result in a rejection, who knows what they might do! If you are a person of color, or a religion that they don't adhere to, you might be turned down. If you are too old, or too young, you might be turned down. If you don't like loud music, you might be turned down. If you are a handicapped person (or a disabled veteran like me), you might be turned down.
When we looked at the apartments, there were dogs there, even though they don't allow them...they were barking like crazy. There was mud up and down every hallway. And the whirlpool was broken. We rationalized these problems away, and applied anyway.
They called our current apartment where we lived for 6 years, and based on a conversation with a young girl who works here part time, who told them that we complained about a neighbors loud music, they rejected our application because of an "adverse housing reference." Ironically, not only do we have an impeccable rental history, our current landlord prominently displays our testimonial on their website to promote the rental of their apartments.
Of course we were mad. It takes a real genuine idiot to cause a problem like this, and High Point Woods management seems to be a breeding ground for idiocy. When the owner of our current residence called High Point Woods to correct the mistake, they still were unwilling to accept her recommendation.
Stay away from this place if you can, it will be nothing but heartache. Our stay there was certainly short-lived! Save yourself some time and stress, skip this apartment, learn from our mistakes, and move on to the nicer apartments in Madison of which there are many available.
UPDATE: See the response below, how lucky we were to be rejected! How weird a community this must be, with their moronic selection process! In the last week we applied for a much nicer apartment, at a lower rent, and they were very happy to have us.

You are not the first applicant this has happened to. We had a similar incident with the same complexe when my boyfriend who was a 3 year resident with not one complaint against him wished to add me to his lease when we decided to live together. I filed the application and was told that it was "Merely a formality." and was told to just move in. Three months later I was told my application had been rejected for a financial reason. This was absolute horse-hockey as my boyfriend would have remained the primary leaser and I was just to be added as a second tenant. My previous landlord gave me a glowing reference, which I know as he is a family friend.
After having lived in the apartment for three months and then being told to leave immediately we found ourselves a new apartment and left soon as we possibly could. It is important to note that in the three months I was residing in the apartment we complained about the neighbors noise and obnoxious behavior so often the managment told us to stop filing complaints with them and to just call the police as "This is not a matter we can intervien in."
It appears to me as if the managment enjoys loud tenants and discourages "trouble-makers".

I currently live in the ghetto that is called High Point Woods. I have horrible loud neighbors that are obnoxious. I have complained multiple times about them and they have sent a letter to them. Well, we all know how effective a letter can be...what a bunch of crap. I was also told to call the police because they are unable to do anything without police documentation. I distinctly remember the only question I had asked was "Is this a quite place." I would not recommend this place to anyone.
