My boyfriend and I have lived at High Point Woods for almost two years, and overall we have enjoyed making our one bedroom apartment our home. We live on the bottom floor, which made for an easy move in and and will make for an easy move out this spring, with a patio door and a very short walk to a nearby parking lot. The office staff is very friendly and courteous, and we have never had a problem with any of them. Someone is almost always there to take care of any problems or to pick up a package for you, and if they are out showing the apartment they leave a notice on the door of their expected return time.

The maintenance staff is also very prompt and efficient. Almost all of our requests were handled either that day or the next, with only a few delays during the peak times while maintenance was repairing recently vacated apartments. During our stay here, our washer and dryer broke down and was very quickly replaced with a brand new, energy efficient model.

During the spring, summer, and fall, our electric bill has always been very low. Only during the winter do the shortcomings here begin to show through. The windows can be a bit drafty, and our apartment uses inefficient, small radiant electric heaters near the floor, with only one per room. Our bedroom remains nice and warm at night due to its small space, but the living room is constantly freezing during the winter. Or electricity bill nearly tripled each month during the winter.

The ceilings are also very creaky, and if you have a neighbor above you, be prepared to hear every move they make. One of our neighbors seemed to want to use a powertool to put screws into the wall daily to hang pictures or something, and we would always hear it early in the morning.

Unfortunately with the record snowfall we had this winter, the staff just could not keep up with it all. Parking became a very difficult problem as the size of our parking lot shrank dramatically with all the snow piled up on all sides.

Overall, High Point Woods is a good place to live. Pros: Great staff, great maintenance, great location. Cons: Nonexistant sound proofing, inefficient heaters that cannot keep up to near and below zero temperatures.
