First two years were great but last 2004 - 2005 the place began to go downhill.

First it was the drive up drug dealer and her boyfriends in one apartment who were finally evicted when they nearly beat a guy to death in the parking lot...this MONTHS after the office staff admitted that the woman living in the apartment wasn't the one who signed the lease and shouldn't be there.

Not long after they left another group moved in to the next apartment. Only supposed to be mother and two kids...turned out to be mother, THREE kids, mother's boyfriend, daughter's boyfriend and any of THEIR friends who decided to stay the morning (morning because they usually showed up at 3 am with stereos blasting loud enough to wake the dead and make beds and windows rattle). When complaints were issued, management slapped their hands with a note and in the process told them WHO was complaining about them. Coming home after dark was a challenge after that point.

Lawn care was hit and miss. Accusations were made that dogs were being allowed to defecate at will without the mess being cleaned up, but the messes on my front lawn were almost as big as my dog.

Maintenance was a JOKE! Just before Thanksgiving last year they decided to rebuild the deck on the floor above mine. the "four day job" ended up taking just short of eight WEEKS. The decks were finished but they had to tear out some drywall for the inspection. I spent five weeks staring at the uninsulated floor of the apartment above mine in both the living room and bedroom because the maintenance MAN (singular) was busy/on vacation/forgot about me.

In March the control stick for the vertical blinds in the living room broke off. I reported it and checked in at least once a week to see when it would be repaired. I moved out finally and was charged 45.00 for the "repair" that would have been FREE if they had gotten it done before I moved.

I had deductions from my deposit refund because "nothing in the bathroom worked but the lights" to which I respond BULL!!!!!!!!!

If you end up living here, make sure you do the walkthru with the "manager" before you leave or take LOTS of pictures so you have proof.

Parking was a challenge at best given the number of untagged cars allowed. If you parked across the drive you were taking your life in your hands. Cars were racing through the lots at all hours and the design of the actual drives often forced you to play "chicken" with some of the other residents (both legal and illegal).

NO security, lights in the parking areas flickering or burned out (and staying that way for months after being reported), retaliation for complaints by those complained about are just a few of the "joys" of living at the Meadows.
