False Accusations!

The Monticello is an excellent place to live as far as safety and cleanliness, but here is what happened to my roommate and I.
We lived there from July of 2003 until June of 2004. I guess it is important to note at this point that a vast majority of the residents are elderly and my roommate and I were in our lower 20s. Thus, we always felt uncomfortable and no one would really talk to us.
Then, in August I received a phone call from management saying that a neighbor complained that out yard light was on too much. Not so bad. Next, in January I got a call at work that the landlord needed to meet with me immediately. So, I left work and came home to meet with them wondering what was going on. They told me that my music was too loud and that the New Years party was unacceptable; they told me we owed our neighbors an apology. (keep in mind they never even called my roommate) Well, as it turns out there was no possible way for it to have been us because my roommate and I were in Tennessee for New Years! I was very disappointed by this and felt I was targeted because I was young when in fact, we don't party, never have and are both medical students with no life. Finally, in early June I got a phone call that a "nosey neighbor" reported me having a dog and that dogs were not allowed and that I would be evicted. I told them they could enter the apartment immediately as I had no dog! They did that and let things go. However, at that point I told them I was no longer interested in renewing my lease, as I could not stand the constant accusations. Overall, if the people in this apartment complex were friendly it would be excellent; however, I feel it is the current residents that ruin the experience.
One last note? In November of 2004 (5 months after I moved out) I got another call from management telling me to turn off my yard light that it was once again bothering my neighbor!

It disappoints me to see such bogus information written about the Monticello. Then to say that you received a call about your light being on five months after you moved is just insane. It's obvious whose accusations are false.

This review doesn't really make any sense. The neighbor suspects a dog is living in someone's apartment and then no dog exists? Another neighbor hears a party that obviously didn't happen and the management couldn't figure out who it really came from? Give me a break. I'm a early 20's medical student living at The Monticello for 2 years and Viki and Rene have been nothing but great with me and my roommate.
