My husband and I lived in a one-bedroom apartment for 2 years until we moved out of state. The apartment is a good size, bathroom is very large. The kitchens are small, but adequate. The buildings are well maintained. I've heard the older buildings are not so nice. We lived in a newer one at the corner of Whitney Way and Sheboygan Ave. Very quiet area. Many older adults live in the complex, and are very friendly. We chose to rent underground parking, which was very worth it considering the snowy winters in Madison. It was expensive, an extra $40 per stall and we rented 2. I was annoyed that my car was right next to the hose that people used to clean their cars, but I didn't know that when I picked that spot.

Anyway, the one bedrooms here are great. A few times we considered moving into a 2 bedroom, but the living space, dining room, and kitchen were exactly the same size as a 2 bedroom. The only difference was that there was an extra bedroom and the large one-bedroom bathroom got split into 2 bathrooms. Wasn't worth it for us.

Electric bill was expensive...over $100 every month, but we did like it warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Overall, a very good place to live if you can afford it. Close to campus. My husband worked in Fitchburg and I worked on the eastside of town and it took both of us 10 mins each to get to work.
