When I was apartment hunting, I looked at many different websites and reviews of apartments. So in thanks to those anonymous reviews, I feel I chose the apartment that fit my needs and am writing a review to return the favor. Keep in mind that when looking at park village or any other apartment, your always going to get different opinions based on experience. Also, it is more likely you'll get people who are unhappy. Afterall, if you are happy, it's unlikely you'll search this site to write a review. I'm a student at Madison so here's the pros, cons, and tips from myself and the sentiment of people I know around the apartments:

Pros: Well managed and helpful staff, apartments are nice and grounds are taken care of, rent is cheap, parking free, close to bus route (15 minutes to campus).

Cons: I feel comfortable in the apartment complex, but the surrounding neighborhood IS shady, you need to watch where you park, car windows are smashed in, mine was! Somewhat isolated from campus, despite another post about students and parties..that is rare. I would say the population is only about 10% students.

Tips: If your looking for a quiet apartment, the ladies in the office really know if there putting you in an apartment that has problematic surroundings. I requested a "quiet" apartment with "good" parking and it has made all the difference. Be good to them, and they'll be good to you. Living facing Park or stuck in the far corners of the complex could spell trouble either noise or crime.

Overall, I like the apartments because there affordable and are relatively safe. If your overly concerned about safety of yourself and vehicle though, I would look elsewhere.
