Moved to Madison to go to schoo1 and thought I was getting a nice apartment for the price. I later thought elsewise. The power box in the unit was not labeled and I had to guess what my breakers represented when I needed to fix something. The battery in the smoke detector was "best if used by 2004" (I moved in in late 2006), the shower never drained properly, there were always kids running up and down the hallways. Wallpaper was peeling, the roof was poorly shingled and the ceiling actually started to cave in from all the moisture leaking in. On top of the building itself, the neighborhood is dangerous. there was a murder across the street and a car-jacking down the road within 2 months of each other and the laundry room was vandalized as well. I would NOT recommend these buildings to even one of my most severe enemies. If you're looking for the slums, this is it!
