Deer Creek Apartments

I love it... except for the extra fees... From: schepsel Date posted: 6/3/2008 Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008   I have lived at Deer Creek since the end of June. They let me move in early, but charged me an extra fee to do so($250). They gave me the option to paint a wall any color I wanted from their selected pallet. I even opted to paint and extra wall for a nominal fee($90). They let me have both of my cats and only charge me one fee of $25. I have under ground parking for one of our cars, but there is an extra $50/month for another spot. I would have to say though that the management staff is the best I have ever had the joy of dealing with. When there were domestic issues that resulted in the loss of some income they allowed us to move a smaller apartment with no fee and were very nice about working with us when there was ever any kind of problem. Maintance was always very prompt. And incredibly friendly. The grounds are very pretty and quiet most nights. The one time we had a problem with a neighbor it was taken care of very quickly. The community center is nice and I like that I have access to the fitness center at anytime. I wish that the hot tub was open later considering it is inside, but I think it is a liablity thing. I have not used the community room yet but it is nice that you can rent it. Parking outside isnt to bad most nights, but sometimes you get people who just dont know how to park and park cars in non-car parking areas. The hallways sometimes smell like people cooking or like food that has been sitting out for a day or two. And the buildings that allow dogs smell really bad because the people with dogs dont care if their pets track in dirt and other muck. I like the lay out of the apartments, but I dont like that on some you pay more for it even though it is a first floor apartment but has the storage unit attached. rent is a little higher than other places that offer the same ammenities but I think a lot of it is made up for by staff that know your name everytime they see you, the community bulding events they do once a month (like wine tasting), and the fact that you know that when you are there it feels like a home and not just another shody apartment.
