I lived at Spring Tree for a year and I can't even being to say how horrible it was. I have read all the comments on this page and I must agree with ALL of them that refer to this place as a horrible area. Lets start out with the small things. Lighting is horrible, and yes I agree with the other comment that it is NOT safe. I heard a drug deal outside my childrens bedroom window one evening. I also had NO heat from October until February when it got warmer. We used our oven to heat our apartment and blew the heating element on it. When we notified the office numerous times that we had cold air blowing from our vents we were given a space heater. We then contacted the building inspector as children were living there and it is quite illegal to not have heat. The building inspector as well as the Tennant Resource Center called the office on our behalf and there was a heating company out there "LOOKING" at the furnace 3 days later. To no avail they said there was noting wrong with the furnace. We called the office again and they said too bad and gave us yet another space heater. We ran our electricity bill up so high from having to have the oven on so much that now its in excess of $1000 and yet April in the office states that there was only 1 complaint lodged to the office about our heat. When in fact Mark Walthers from Middleton Building Inspection had a meeting with Steve with regard to 5 units complaining of not having heat in the winter months. Aprils attitude is less than pleasant she is obviously there for just a paycheck as she doensn't seem to care either. Steve seemed genuinely nice in his old fashioned but I feel that he was over his head with the level of work that needed to be done. I also took pictures of the 3 inch thick ice that coated our walkway up to the building of which I did fall on and had to go to urgent care. There was also no salt in the bucket that sat empty during our last horrible storm. I took pictures of that as well. I also got some interesting snapshots of our grounds last spring when there were mushrooms 1 foot high growing all over the lawn. The tree branches that were on cars in the parking lot from trees that are well overdue for a trim. Its funny when I went around all the property to take pictures of the lack of care that is provided to the grounds when I got to the building on Amherst (where the office is located) the grounds there were so nicely kept. The mulch was spread nicely the trees were trimmed and flowers were planted. But as you get further and further away from the office it pretty much the ghetto of middleton. I lived in a building where I should have had 7 neighbors...in all the time that I lived there there were only 2 other tennants in the whole building. Doesn't that say something for the management. 4 of the units are filled with used appliances and junk, I happened to see that one day while they were apparently "cleaning". I DO NOT recommend anyone living there as for the price they charge they should definitely be giving tennants a better place to live.

I know that NEW manager that will be stepping in...she's great! I know she will clean and clear things up quickly. I live in an apartment that she managed...it was a very bad area until she became the manager. It's a great place now...A LOT of changes!

I work for the post office and occasionally deliver mail to these apartments and can tell you that the statement about this place being empty is true. Most of the buildings aren't even half full and some only have 1 or 2 apartments occupied. This place is a total dump from being in every building and I'd say tied with the worst place to live in Middleton along with Sunrise heights apartments. They have let this place get so bad they may as well raise it and start over.
