I had my deposit and application shredded for not having a co-signer. My husband died 6 months ago and my father is a wheelchair bound 84 years old. I told them I was widowed before making the appointment. I have no co-signer for my car, student loans or for any other place I've rented for the past 23 years. I was repeatedly told by the helpful office staff the he doesn't work for commission and that he is only trying to help me. I got a great job offer at a reputable company in Middleton and will be renting an apartment up the street. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from 1983 and was treated like an ID_10_T by a 19 year old wanna be executive vaporized by moth ball sanitation.

Sorry to hear about your loss with your husband, but glad you have a great job offer and other place to live. Our society is messed up in how it values and treats people. In the end it's probably good that you didn't end up at Spring Tree -- I hope your other place is nice.

All applicants are treated equally. The are three requirments that all applicants are subject to. In an effort to be fair to all, each and every appliacant is subject to these same requirments, without prejudice. It is not fair to give someone preference over another, regardless of age, wealth, education, etc. Every effort is made to approve an application within our guidelines. You stated "Our society is messed up in how it values and treats people". Ironically, it is the sole reason we have these requirments, so that each and every applicant is treated the same, no matter what! Hoper your new place is great.
