My boyfriend and I have lived in this complex for a little over a year. When we first moved it in what pretty good. The manager at the time was really nice and things actually got done in a decent period of time if you needed maintenance. Since the new manager took over things have gone downhill. The manager is not particularly polite nor does he seem inclined to keep his word. Back in June my boyfriend and I inquired about moving to a 2 bedroom apartment and we were told that one was available but we would need to have a $300 deposit in less than a week. If we were new tenants I would understand but we've paid our rent on time every month, we've never caused a problem and I think we're good tenants but apparently "their system" doesn't work that way. Ok. So, then they told us that they would let us know either way by the end of July if they had any 2 bedroom apartments coming available. Well, the end of July came, then the end of August, its now September and guess what' We still haven't heard anything. There is a dog in the next building that is outside and barking at all hours and there is a tenant who owns a crotch rocket. The lease says that it needs to be parked in front of the tenant's other vehicle and cannot occupy a space on its own. Apparently that tenant didn't read his lease because the bike is frequently parked in its own space but so that you can't see it until you've half turned into the spot. Pretty frustrating when you're trying to park at 10:30 at night and don't want to walk half the complex to get home. We told them 2 weeks ago about a leak in our ceiling and the woman in the office said to my boyfriend, "and you just noticed it now' it hasn't rained in 2 weeks." Not very courteous. And they said they would probably just paint over the water spot. How is that going to fix a leak I ask you' Not to mention no one has been out to look at it yet. We also tried to have direct TV installed this afternoon but because of the large tree in front of our patio and the manager's refusal to allow them to put the dish on the roof we have had to cancel it yet again. These may seem like a lot of small things but over a year they add up and we've pretty much had our fill. Oh, and I forgot to mention when I originally wrote this that someone got stabbed in the next building over.

The tranfer policy at Briarwick has aways been to fill out a new application and put down a new $300 security deposit. The security deposit on the previous apartment is usually refunded within 14 days after keys are returned to the office. They did not have the funds to post a new security deposit.
