These apartments are highly overpriced. We weren't allowed to see our actual unit until the day we moved in. Unfortunately by then, it was too late to get a different apartment. The apartments are too small (i.e. you pay more than a $1/sq foot). The first floor level windows are set so far back, even though we are sitting directly south, we get no sunlight. Don't be fooled...the first floor one bedroom units do not have a front living room window, only the front door and your sliding patio doors facing your nice brown patio divider. Snow removal is horrible, outside lighting is horrible, and yes, ------ (the manager) is an ass. The windows seep in cold air, and the air conditioning unit doesn't send cold air far enough to reach the bedroom. The person who lived above me used to smoke and we could smell it, and when the person above us now cooks anything that could be burning, we smell it. We have to pay extra for our pet, pay extra for the washer and dryer, extra for an extra parking space (outside). The side walls seem thick, but forget the ceiling/floor. There is parking underneath our unit, and in the summer every time a guy starts his motorcycle we feel it rumble. They just keep finding ways to commit rental ----.

The unit we were going to move into was clearly a unit where the previous tenants had smoked. Don't worry, they wouldn't let us go into our actual unit either ... we just walked past it and saw all the cigarettes everywhere. We made them re-write our lease for a non-smoking unit ... then I found out that they have no smoking restrictions!!! WHAT?!?! It was a hassle to get a unit where the previous tenant was a non-smoker, but we still couldn't walk thru our unit until the day we moved it. That should have bene our first sign to not move in.... We are moving to a place in Menomonee Falls for the same amount of rent and its SO MUCH NICER (and yes, we get to see our actual unit before we move in)

To Falling 4 u06:
Well we did see the model. However, the downstairs model is the two bedroom so much bigger, and the model one bedroom we saw was an upper which has an extra window in it that downstairs one bedrooms don't. In addition, when we signed the lease a person was still leasing our assigned unit and they wouldn't let us look at it until our move-in date. We were moving from out of state so we didn't exactly have every day of the week to come back and view that particular apartment. We were told it would be ready a week before it actually was. We absolutely had to move in by our lease start date, but they didn't "finish" our apartment until the day before. We had no choice. You're right, its smart to see an apartment before you sign a lease, too bad Briarwick doesn't think this is a necessity. h- We moved to a place in Waukesha county and have 1000 sq. feet, private entrance, pets ok, garage, and Washer/dryer all included no extra cost! THE LANDLORDS IN MILWAUKEE COUNTY NEED TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER BEFFORE SOMEONE BRINGS A CLASS ACTION!

Oh wow, what is the place in Waukesha county named? We are currently living in Menomonee falls and my coworker lives at briarwick and loves it. But if we find a better place we will move there. We really do no want to move back to mil county but if its worth it, i guess...
