Well, I was new to town, and didn't know any better, let's just put it that way. The area is very scary!!! I'm sure it could be worse, but for a single gal, I felt unsafe. Sure the grounds are pretty. I fell in love with it when it was shown to me. But after moving in, and seeing what kind of people I was living among, I wish I found somewhere else to live! My car got broken into in an underground parking garage, where you need your own private garage door opener to enter! So either someone snuck under the door as it was closing, or it was someone living in the same building!! They smashed in my drivers side window, and stole my CD player.
This is the perfect place if you LOVE the sound of car alarms at all hours of the night and day! It's also lovely to wake up to the sound of bass bumping at 6:00 in the morning!
I don't feel safe enough to have my sliding screen door open, or my bedroom window open. Not to mention we are living across the street from a mall that was shut down due to gang activity.
Can I just please talk about the paper thin walls' I can hear everybody's everything!! I'm sure they can hear me too! I can hear people walking in the apartment above me, opening their doors, using their sink disposal, conversations. This is the kicker. When I am getting ready for work in the morning, I can ACTUALLY hear my neighbors peeing and farting!!!! How's that for privacy!
Parking sucks too. My boyfriend came to visit me, and he couldn't park in the resident lot. He parked across the street, on the street. He got a tickent because he didn't have the parking tag!!!
Also, to keep the apartment at a tempurature I could be confortable in was a task in itself. The air is either too cold, or it doesn't turn on enough. In the winter it gets so hot, you don't know what to do. Also, when I had my heat and air turned off, it was blazing hot in there. I had to have a maintenance guy twice to fix it. It still doesn't work correctly.
I have to say, it could have been worse. I'm alive, so it couldn't have been that bad. Atleast my neighbors didn't throw parties and play loud music.
P.S. The hallway stinks so bad! Especially after it rains. After the rain it smells like sweaty feet. On a regular day, it smells like cucumber sauce that you put on gyros.
