Yes the location is great, and yes the views of the lake are incredible. However the perks to living at Juneau Village Towers end here. Ever since new management took over this past fall my rent jumped up a staggering $170 a month. I now pay $1000 for a 480 sq. ft. studio! Which would be fine if it were worth it, but it isn't. The interiors of the buildings need desperate makeovers, the communal carpeting needs to be replaced, and the elevators look like crap (dim lighting, carvings on the walls, etc.). Not to mention the units have air conditioners that are horribly under-powered and there are no fume hoods over the stoves, rather there is a communal exhaust system serving the whole building (meaning you get to smell everyone else's cooking). The office staff have been rather friendly though and do respond quickly when you have a complaint. However for the money, it just isn't worth living here especially since many of the residents agree we have no idea where our money is being spent!
