My fiance and I are a young couple that moved out together in June of last year, and sadly, we're moving again this month because this place just isn't what we had expected or looked forward too!

A couple of really crappy things happened to us.
1) We came to move in on June 1st, they told us we could pick up our keys at 12, which we came to do with our furniture in the truck come to find out that 'they will give us the keys, but we can't move in yet because the carpet is being redone'. Heck, i am not going to complain about new carpet.. that's awesome! But it's pretty cruddy when you decide to do that on the DAY the resident moves in, and to not pick up the phone to let them know-which would've been a kind courtesy. We sat outside for hours waiting for them to finish, and didn't move what we had in the truck in until 9 o'clock at night. I also had furniture to be delivered that day and I had to turn them away and have it redelivered the next day. Apparently these guys who were contracted out had FIVE apartments to do that day. Are you kidding me' That's not to say when we get into the apartment it was incredibly dirty. The air conditioning was on all day with the doors open what sense that makes i don't know, and they cooked a pizza in the oven and left the mess all over the counter..
I went to the office and told them that I was not going to pay for that first day of rent. (which was 23.33) and Tammy (one of the girls in the office) took that off of my rent.. A few days later we got a note under our door from Anne the manager apologizing for what happened and she told us to take $75 off of our next months rent. We thought that was really really nice of them seeing as how we really didn't make a stink about it- they made that move on their own, which I really appreciated. However, months down the line we kept getting these notices about how we owed 23.33 on rent. Going to the office numerous times they couldn't figure out why it kept saying we were short, it was a whole mess.. but after 6 months they finally dropped it.

2) Then, like the third morning after we moved in I wake up to the noise of a man talking and walking around in my apartment. I stayed under my covers as I was not really dressed right and waited, I wasn't sure what I was hearing, I was still sleepy!!! So then I heard a door close, and I got up quickly wrapped a sheet around me to go look around and I looked through the peep hole to see a man coming up to my door and he turns the knob, I shoved the door back.. Come to find out that he thinks that he needs to replace the tile on my kitchen floor.. I was mortified.. Does maintenance not knock, ring to doorbell, yell into the apt before they come in' My god... They now have two new guys who are really nice and I've never had a problem with...

3) We have had our shower re caulked numerous times because of leaking water into the downstairs apartment. Numerous times, I mean like 6! Which you do the math means how many days of not being able to shower.. It was INCREDIBLY frustrating. Finally after the fourth time we asked to be able to shower in another apartment, (seeing as how the one across from us was vacant) They gave us keys to the model which was in a completely different building and not close to us. Yeah, that works real nice in the middle of winter with wet hair! Needless to say, the caulk around our shower is cracking again, and I wish that they would realize that a pipe or something has to be leaking behind that wall to create the moisture, I'm am not going to say anything about it until we move that way my shower isn't taken away from me again!!!... I just hope that it is fixed before the new resident that moves into this apt comes.

4) If you live in one of the upper level apartments, remind yourself that heat rises and heat here is free... so people in the lowers crank theirs real high and they run it real high in the hallways too which makes it incredibly hot in the uppers. I can honestly say, that this past winter I did not turn the heat on at all, and had to have the balcony open because it was so hot in the unit.. The little air cond hardly works, I highly recommend that you get your own.

5) The cops have been living around here it seems lately.
6) You do have to pay for an extra parking spot for a two bedroom which is stupid..
7) No more caretakers..
8) Hallways are dark and dreary, really bad lighting.

Thing is, there are going to be problems where ever you live, esp when it comes to a big complex. It just comes down to what is acceptable and what is not.. So you make that choice. We read reviews before we came, and we knew that this place hadn't rated the best.. But we tried it anyways, it was our first apartment.. Not a horrible one, just not the greatest.. I can say that I did enjoy the pool, using the clubhouse and the fitness ctr.. It's all nice for the price. The management really isn't bad, they try their hardest for managing so many units.. They could just up their game a little bit more, and maybe higher some extra help a couple of hours a week that way they can provide better service. We're moving on.. Like I said.. Not bad for the money, and for our first apt.
