ok, i have lived here just over six months now and i think i have truly seen the worst that this place can offer, but at the same time i am starting to see things turn around for the best. i really struggle with some of these reviews because i want to think things are better than they used to be. after reading all these again, it seems like we at a very important turning point. where it goes next is all up to management.
i am sooooo lucky because the people who live on my floor are decent, hard-working, considerate, quiet, respectable adults. these kind of people are a rare, rare thing in this building. i love my neighbors on my floor, i love my stylin place, i love the location of the building. what i don't like: the lack of supervision on nights and weekends, which leads to garbage and vandalism. i pay way too much to worry if there will be vomit in the elevators, beer bottles broken on the front steps or stairwells, newspapers thrown all over the entire lobby. i cannot beleive how much noise some people make in the halls, elevators, lobbies, front lawn, garages, as if they had no care about anybody else. sounds echo even worse in a warehouse loft, too. there is really no one to complain to about behavior problems, because there is no one here to call.
i would also like to see more of a sense of neighborhood come to the building. maybe some community events or meetings. there has to be some activity going on, right now things have been feeling very flat. they should really use the public rooms more often.
we don't see much communication either. it has been months since i got a memo or newsletter. for all i know, i'm missing out on something important.
i guess the only other thing that would make it better is more decoration. the computer room feels like a jail cell. some photos or posters would help. or even better lights.
the hallways are also really empty. i didn't notice this until i went to a nearby apartment complex and realized how empty our building is. i'm hoping nobody would trash the decorations.
nice to have indoor, heated parking after many years in the Marquette neighborhood.

I have to disagree with your comment about the computer room because there are pictures in there. And as far as building events go, there was just one.

Ok so I checked the computer room. There is one piece of gaudy framed art hanging up. That's it. The lighting in there does remind me of a jail cell. Very hard on the eyes.

There have been several attempts at community events in the past. All were totally lame and no one shows up. But, that was when we actually had STAFF in our building. I have lived here since it has been under construction and have seen many staff come and go (including security guards). The presence of on-site management is at an all-time low.

When I first moved in and there was a property manager AND a resident services manager and an office assistant and some cleaning people and a "marketing specialist." It feels that pennies are being pinched in the wrong places. This is too bad. We need more than the bargain basement treatment to turn it around here.

I don't even know who works here anymore. Office hours are back to weekdays only until 5. Voicemails are not returned.
