Have only lived here since fall but I have to say that we are not getting our money's worth. If you think that there are 100 apt here and each paying $800ish or more, that's at least $80,000/month income. Not even considering the tax credits the place is getting. Where does that money go because its not being spent to improve or upkeep this place. It seems as little money as possible is spent to make it good for the residents. Building is constantly dirty and vandalized. Cars always broken into. Street is a mess and always under construction. Damages are not fixed cleaned or painted for a long time. Burnt out lights on the building have not been fixed in months. Broken workout equipment. Broken theater equipment. No furniture on the deck. Need a much bigger staff for cleaning and maintenance in this kind of place. Spend some of that money, already. You won't have it when the building empties out. I agree with the comments that it always feels ghetto after dark and on weekends. There is no one here to manage it. Need staff here to do something about it. Either security or second shift manager. Renting to decent adults, less college students would make a big change. I have hard times paying my rent, I don't get tax credits and I don't know how some of these party people pay theirs.

Certainly, there must be a budget for continuous improvements, especially with a non-profit organization managing it. Yet it always feels that the complex is being run into the ground, usually by the tenants. It's unfortunate. This could be a gorgeous building. I don't appreciate seeing profanity etched into my elevator walls!

Only a month into living here and it's clear that it's going to be ugly. We are considering a blog.

If the building really was dirty all the time before, it's nice to see that it isn't any longer. (I didn't move in until last summer.)

Floor waxing has made a big difference on many floors. It just looks cleaner and brighter. I would like to see better lighting. Also I hope the grounds will be kept up this summer -- last year it was all beer cans and ciggarette butts and abandoned furniture on the front lawn all the time.
