nice location & ammenities, but pricey

overall, i really liked living here. it was a great location for where i went to school and the ammenities (though i rarely had time to use them) were excellent. i lived facing water street, which, if you know the downtown area, becomes VERY noisy on the weekends, especially during the summer.
my apartment was also on the "cheaper" side of the building. this was new construction when they turned the old brewery into apartments. these are not as pretty as the other side of the building with exposed brick interiors and unique layouts, but they are a much better value.
the rent includes gas and water which was quite nice. the central heating/air conditioning runs off of hot/cold water pipes, so the only thing you pay for is the fan to blow the hot/cold air into the apartment. the apartment was kept fairly cool during the summer and fairly warm during the winter and the electric bill was never over $60.
the 24 hour conceirge was very nice for picking up packages, but guests had to go through them to be buzzed up into the apartment. an intercom system would have been much more efficient.
the parking structure is a good value for $60 a month, i only once had a problem getting a spot and that was due to the excessive snow on the top level of the ramp that cut out a good number of spaces.
the ladies in the leasing office were always very friendly and helpful. they were very flexible with move in/out dates.
in general, this is a great place to live, if you can afford it.
