I lived at Dublin Trail for over a year. The apartment was about 1200 sq ft, included a den and was bright and airy. I've never heard any sounds through the walls from adjacent apartments and I never received any complaints for my TV/stereo (which I have in my new apartment). I am positive the sound insulation is better in Dublin trail than in some other apartments. There are noisy trains that pass several times each night blowing their horns, but I understand that most of Appleton is like this. With the windows closed, all outside sounds except thunder are greatly reduced.
The weak spot in sound proofing is the living room/front door which lets noise in or out to anyone in the passageway. Should not really bother anyone in my opinion. Your TV can be heard in the passage, you hear your neighbors in the passageway.
The appliances were great except the dryer, which refused to work in some modes. I could use the standard mode and it would work. Permanent press would not -- it would turn off in a couple of minutes. The maintenance guy initially took a look at it but then said nothing was wrong with the dryer. It wasn't a big deal anyway. Maintenance people (Joe) were quick and efficient. I had them change my washer, unclog a toilet, fix a shower curtain rod and all of this was done well.
Moving out -- just like everyone else noted -- you will probably not get all your security deposit back. I agree that they have a right to charge you for not returning your apartment to its original pristine condition, but lets face it, when you move out, you will be so busy doing other things that cleaning it spotless will not be a priority for you. You will miss some things here and there and they will get you for it (about $60). They also expect you to use a professional (or equivalent) carpet cleaning/cleaner so if you just vacuum, they will still charge you $90 for it.
My suggestion to you if you are planning on moving out -- don't spend much of your own time during move out to clean the carpets or the apartment any more than you would regularly clean. Let them take it out of your security deposit as they are going to charge you even if you do take some time to clean it, because it will never be to their satisfaction.
Parking : I always parked in my connected garage. My visitors parked in the parking lot, never had problems. When I moved in, three cars were broken in to. I think this was a random event and could happen anywhere else too.
The clubhouse is excellent. Its free to reserve and use for barbecues and other events. They have a decent little gym, a decent sized indoor heated pool (all year long, even when it snowing outside!) and hot tub, which some apartments don't have. The clubhouse has free wireless internet in case you want to spend some time close to home but not at home. The barbecue, the utensils (cups plates spoons etc) are all free to use as long as you stick them in the dishwasher and clean up when you're done.
The area: Appleton is growing and so is Neenah. Just before I left, they built sidewalks all around the apartment which is great for jogging. There's a long and nice jogging/biking track running east west parallel to the 10 which is a mile due south of the apartments. The apartment is close enough to the 10 to make going to College Ave/Menasha branches of Golds gym, Club West easy and there's Curves and another small gym in less than half a mile away. New bars and food places, video libraries etc within a quarter of a mile away.
