I am writing this review after having toured the Carriage Way Apartment Complex. I have read all of the reviews and responses. I have decided not to rent here after realizing that all the negative reviews were for the most part accuarate. Some may be embelished a little, but, for the most part are pretty close to dead on. One thing that I did find strange however is that all of the very high positives seem to have come from the manager. Given his screen names and the names used in responses, he seems to be the one posting all of the positive responses. Just something to think of...

Here is my opinion of the property from an outsider looking in.

I toured these apartments a few days after the big snow storm in December of 2006. The lots were ok in terms of being plowed. I did notice a LOT of salt on the sidewalks which was nice, but there was none in the parking lots and were pretty slippery. The unit I looked at was not that impressive and needed a lot of help. I was told that everything I wanted fixed could be fixed within two weeks and the apartment would be great when I moved in. The overall layout is very nice. But, walking through the hallways it did seem to be really noisy and you could hear everything and anything inside the apartment and outside in the hallways. The pool area was obviously closed, but, looked ok. All in all, my experience was ok. The manager did seem very nice, but, also did seem to be a little eager to have us sign right away and then answer questions. He did come across as a little fake.

I am glad we decided to keep looking for an apartment. The free cable and roadrunner as advertised would have been a nice savings along with heat included. But, I am happy that we didn't make it be our deciding factor.

I am willing to say that I chose not to rent here due to all the negative feedback and figuring out that the manager is the one posting all of the positive feedback. If I was 18 years old and really didn't care about noise, parking, management and just wanted to get away from the parents, this place would be great. But, if you are an adult with a couple of kids and are married. There are other places much more suitable for the money.
