Moving in to Carriage Way was a last minute decision on my part. I know two co-workers who live there as well. Both plan to stay, one because they refuse to move until they get a house, the second arn't moving because its close to everything and they are finally settled. All of us agree these apartments are terrible. I live in the corner, 2nd floor in the main buliding. The people(s) downstars blast KISS FM music all day, and at night they complain that everyone one else is to loud. The people across from me have a bird that doesn't shut up. The apartment complexes were never shoveled!!! I missed class twice because not only was the parking lot unshovled, but the sidewalks were unsholved as well. Heat is free, only cause it doesn't really work, the windows are paper thin as are the walls and floors. The main reason I'm moving is due to m roommate, but I wouldn't stay if I wanted two. Our building stucture is caving in and the balcony supports are no longer touching the ground, the door frames are going with it beause the doors won't close completely. The washer and dryer barely work and other tendents like to take your clothes out and toss them on the floor for you. The other tendents also like to think handicap means PRIME PARKING cause when there are enough parking spots for everyone (once snow stopped), people still think its okay to park in handicap. Management gives off a fake feeling once you sign your lease. Speaking of lease, mine was 8 months, my co-worker was a full year and told that they only do years, and my other co-workers was 10 months and was told that was standard' Truthful much' Good location, but thats about it after 8 months of hating to come "home".

You shouldn't take your problems out on the Carriage Way Apartments when you really have the problems with your room mate. WORK IT OUT WE know who you are, and your just as loud.

I agree with the initial complaint. I actually live by myself in the apt next to him. The bird across the hall is LOUD! And, can you believe this, it's the apt manager, Dawn's, bird! The other apt manager (a guys whose name I do not know) is hard to understnad and is a jerk. There was leaking in my apt at the end of winter, when the snow began to melt. THe male apt manager refused to fix it; he told me to put a towel under it, that he didn't have time and probably won't for months. There is supposed to be regulated parking, but everyone and their guests parks in the lot where people who live there can't even find a parking spot. Mulitple problems w/ appliances, etc... Takes FOREVER to get them fixed. Air conditioning barely works. Horrible, shared, washers and dryers. Only 3 washers and 3 dryers per bldg, when there's 24 apt in each bldg. People hog them by putting there stuff in all 3 and then not moving their stuff from the machines for HOURS. Gym is OUT OF DATE, 1080'2-1990's equipment. Pool is dirty; I will NOT swim in it. Neighbors ae LOUD on all sides of me: below, next, across. They trick you when you come to look at the apts by showing you a "sample" apt b/c they "couldn't get a hold of the tenant who's currently living in the apt for rent, to show you the actual apt". Was promised new carpet, California closets, new counters & fridge... I was supposed to have the "most up-tp-date apt, which is why I was paying a higher price... I didn't get any of it. Their excuse "well we can't promise anything"... no, they'll just lie to you, in any way, to get you to sign the lease. News for you Wisconsinites: WI leasing laws are one of the best. In WI, you can break your lease and NOT be responsible for all 12 months. You can be taken to court and be liable for 2 or 3 extra months (applicable time for the owner to find a new tenant), but if you want out after 1 or 2 months... DO IT. (Note: I am not a lawyer, I just learned that in a real estate class at school. For exact law, contact a lawyer). Needless to say, i am NOT resigning a lease. There are nothing but dirty people living here, who like to smoke, drink and do drugs. I would call it the slums of New Berlin.

I'd like to apologize to the neighbors that think what I think. The fact is, since everyone else is loud and doesn't care, I don't care anymore. The paper thin walls aren't going to stop my life from going on, so as long as I'm stuck with rude and obnoxious people, I might as well annoy them since they don't know how to be respectful.
