This may be a good starter apartment, but only if you are able to get a decent apartment here. We are currently in what we believe is the WORST apartment in the complex. There is no privacy from any side. We look DIRECTLY into the neighboring apartments patio door (and this has caused probelms with the neighbors because they are excessively nosy and have on may occasions been caught staring directly in at us when we open our pation doors on a nice day) and where as most of the other apartments here have some sort of tree or building to give at least a little privacy for the bedroom windows we look directly into the senior center behind us. We have neighbors that are permitted to use the hose connection out side our bedroom window and leave their hose there for others to use, this also means that we are not able to open our windows because there is always someone back there and always ready to gaze in our windows. We have also sent complaint letters (plural) to the management here because they are allowing one of our neighbors to "decorate," and I use the term loosely, all over the common area with tacky and cheap looking flowers and, of all things, faded pink flamingos. I find that this takes away from the nice landscaping and the continuity of the look of the apartments. And no matter how many letters I write, no one does a things about it. This leads me to believe that the management here is pretty worthless when it comes to any form of complaints. I mean when there is a problem they are usually there the same day to fix it, but some times it takes what seems like forever to get things fixed. They also tend to forget to let you know things, for instance, we were getting a new water heater installed. Apparently they didn't think that they needed to let us know when that way going to occur because the men who were going to be doing the work knocked on our door and caught us completely by surprise. When I called the office about it their response was, well you let them in right' And you were there weren't you' Then I asked them if they were going to let the others that were getting their water heaters replaced on the same day know about it and their response was that it was too late! All in all, if you can get the right apartment (you should choose a town home if there is one available, there is at least a bit more privacy there), this is a pretty quiet and safe neighborhood to live in. Like I said, it is a good starter place.
