Many tenants here do not care to clean up after their dogs and the managers here do not do anything to enforce the rule, so if you want to take a walk on the grass after lunch or dinner, you have to watch where you step on the pathways than enjoying the view!
I have always got my assigned parking for free or pay a one time fee to Portland Parking and park for free for one year, all I had to do was park my car in the two hour parking and use it daily. I never had any trouble to find parking before. I never had to pay for parking and had trouble to find parking during any times. At Gables, without a carport then you may have a difficulty in finding parking. This apartment complex rents out the leasing office common area any days of the week during office hours and after hours. Even if they don t, the parking spot without a carport is free. Open spot that without a carport is not limited to how many spot each family and guest could have. Anyone can park there. Visitors and residents are welcome to park their vehicles for as long as they like to. Even when you did pay for carport to park, whenever there is a need to fix the carport, it took them forever to get it fixed. They asked you to park your car in a no carport spot by 7Am on 11/18 and said it will be completed fix by after business hours on 11/20. It s been a week gone and it remained unfixed. Now, it is past stated date and time, and without any explanations about how come it stayed unfixed.
The walls are pretty thin and you can always hear the police, the ambulance come and go around here day and night 7 days a week. On top of that some people like to arrange people over for early morning meeting and some people like to invite guest to stay the night over for partying. Then other residents also get no rest. Also, when upstairs neighbor started to chat loudly on the phone or just talk louder than normal voice with their spouse on balcony. Those people are very selfish. Beside that, crows are very annoying. In the summer, watch out for the killer spiders and beetles running around here. They come for those who have flowers on their patio/balcony. Tenants who make charcoal or gas burner at their patio/ balcony to make fire just to stay warm, smoke odor came through my window screens. They could have just use their fireplace or turn on their heater to stay warm. The same day we moved in we already experienced all of these. To my surprise, this kind of unwanted experience I suffered for weeks. And there is no solution that the management can come up with.
I have several questions related to Gables:(1)The way the stairs was built around the apartment. Climbing up and down just to get to my home is never fun to do. Rain sinks in and it is slippery from front entrance. I even fell two times since moving in. (2)The way the patio/ balcony were designed gave tenants no privacy. (3)I am very upset at a Mexican maintenance guy who was very careless to us. He was outside my front door to spent time to use something that smell like coal to suck up the leaves outside my front door on 11/18. (4)Who can tell me why the spa&pool back door was not lock before during after office hours, are now always locked until office hours' (5)I have never lived in an apartment that is closed so many dates. At Gables, they have it closed post for cleaning issue and for meeting issues. They don't just close it for national holidays.
Those people who have moved out and still think this is the best place you ever stayed. Your words are unstable resources. If this is the best home for you, why did you care at all about moving' All summer, they opened the hot spa, but in winter, they closed the place too often. I think the current management is a joke and a freak. She is either on vacation or here in and out about 4 times a day when she is working. Otherwise, she is almost always on the phone and yes they never returned your call in a prompt way. Staff does not return calls, nor do they care about the people living here. Thus, this can't be called your best home.

It snowed a lot from December 2008 to March 2009. They did nothing about snow days. The office is closed all the way when it did snowed.
