Southfield Expansion

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I was comfortable living in a downtown Milwaukee Apartment complex that was almost like a hotel, great service, great staff, security guard, and doorman. Not so much to my surprise, a developer began remodeling and selling off our apartments as condos. The condo fees were $300-$500. It was a great place, close to my job, and everything. Someone purchased my apartment and wanted to get in sooner than expected. I checked out Oak Creek and saw Southfield Expansion just off the freeway north of Rawson. I walked the grounds; spoke with residents; and, asked everyone I saw lots of questions. The grounds in the old section which Wimmer purchased from previous owner and are now managing, looked great to me. The lawn was well-maintained and it looked like a small park in the middle of the older section. The Southfield Expansion apartments are relatively new. They have a very comfortable, home-like feeling. The apartment has a versatile layout. The appliances are new. The older section, I understand from a resident (during my excursion) is gas heat and central air. The expansion (newer section) has electric heat which is great for me. The newer section also has a wall air conditioner, with energy saver and air cleaner and it keeps the place comfortable in this warm weather. After exploring the complex and speaking with residents, I explored the leasing office. I made an appointment to tour the apartments. Then I took an application with me. As I was leaving, I looked at the business cards in the corner of the counter and I saw a card for Kathy, the Manager of Southfield. I took one of the cards and exclaimed as I left.."I'll be back. I know I will like this place. Because Kathy's great!" The person at the desk simply said, "she's not here yet." I said but she will be and I've lived in other apartments she has managed and have always had things taken care of the same day I requested them...always. I remembered Kathy, only because of my past experience with her (with another managment company, not Wimmer). But, at that moment, I felt very comfortable. I moved in. The apartment was great. Kathy saw me; called me by name, and asked if I was happy with my apartment and could she do anything else for me. Was I right or what'! Now...I'm moving into an upper unit. It had previous residents in it. Kathy made sure that the new place was to my liking. I checked it over prior to signing the new lease. I thought it looked good. Kathy noticed some things I didn't and took care of those also. She replaced carpeting and tile flooring as needed. I took another look at the place and it's super. I was used to five star service and I'm getting it here, at the Southfield Expansion in Oak Creek.
