Shows Beautiful - Lives Ugly

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
I lived at Springbrook Cercle for a year with my husband before buying a house. We toured many apartments in Oak Creek before choosing Springbrook Cercle. I have read many of the reviews that indicate that management is a big problem and I will agree wholeheartedly. While we were touring we indicated that we were interested in seeing two bedroom apartments. The representative made comments along the line of "Maybe a one bedroom would better fit your budget". My husband and I are both professionals and were a bit taken back by this, but didn't press the issue and decided to rent the two bedroom as planned. Upon move in there was a gigantic stain on the carpet in the middle of living room, and various stains in heavy traffic areas. When we alerted management of the problem they told us they would do their best to clean it, but that we were receiving a reduced rent price of $995 versus $1,025 and that the carpet would be older based on that. I can't believe that anyone would think that someone would rather live with ghetto carpeting than pay a lousy 3% more. Worse than that were the obnoxious rules. No candle burning, when the apartment had a wood burning fireplace. No windchimes, when the train tracks were just a few feet away and motorcycles were rampant. In fact, we had a neighbor that would repair his motorcycle in his garage and rev it for hours and management refused to speak to him about it. They don't offer cable, but tell you that you can get a satelite dish. In order to install the dish, you must create a special pole and insert it into a decorative pot, and even then you will be hassled. Bottom line is that this could be a really great place to live if management would take the time to treat people with respect and stop worrying about the landscaping.
