Get a house or get over it!!

I lived at Springbrook for two years. I have owned a home for 13 years minus those two years due to a divorce and I have a few thoughts on Springbrook and everybodies complaints. I lived in the blue apartments(the oldest ones)and I had a good experience. I only had two issues with my place and they were both fixed within 24 hours of me reporting them. I talked to the maintaince staff a few times and found out that there are 500 apartments at Springbrook. The grounds always look well groomed and the snow was always clear within a reasonable time. I read a review that complained about snow removable not being done until the snow stopped, sometimes not for days. I can't remember a time where it snowed for "days". When I was there, the snowblowers were clearing my walks before the sun was even up. There are miles of sidewalks at Springbrook and they always started with the blue apartments because there are no attached garages for those renters. Then they moved over to the tan, then to the new ones. For those who complain but have never owned a home, let me tell you that snow removal can't be done with a snap of the finger. I thought they did a good job. I also saw three trucks with plows doing the roads.
There was some trash blowing around. It is my opinion that if the lazy people who don't tie closed their trash bags or just throw the back on the ground "near" the dumpster would take more responsability, there would not be as much trash on the ground.
As a home owner I miss the days of just making a phone call to get something fixed at no cost. There is costs and time involved in owning a home, and Rob owns 500 homes. He would need a staff of dozens to pick up every scap of paper as it hits the ground and clear every piece of snow from behind your car. The one maintaince guy I talked to told me that at least once a day they have to go to an apartment with a plunger to unclog a toilet that someboby plugged with too much toilet paper. That to me does not sound like a maintaince issue. If you can't buy a 4 dollar plunger and take care of your own mess, then you are in trouble in the real world.I think they did very well for the huge amount of work that is involved.
I get a kick out reading the reviews by people who have live at Springbrook for 2,3,4 or even 5 years and said what a living hell it was. If it was that bad, why did you renew your 1 year lease. GET OUT if it sucks that bad.
I used Springbrook to regroup and then into a house. If you think it so easy to take care of a home and Rob is doing such a terrible job, get your own house and see how easy it is or move to another complex.
I will admit there are some issues that need to tended to at Springbrook, but I can only think that in any large complex, there are issues.
p.s. I am not Rob or an employee of Springbrook in case you wondered!!

Anonymous: Since you don't seem to understand what this website is here for, I'll explain it to you. This is a website for people to share their experiences at various apartment complexes. This area in particular is for Springbrook Cercle apartments. That is what most people do here. Some other people (like yourself) seem to think this is a website for themselves to review other reviewer???s comments. If your experience was favorable, fine. Feel free to express that opinion. However, unless you are sharing the same physical body as another reviewer, your experience does not necessarily reflect the experiences of any other tenant be they previous or current; in any way, shape or form. If you have a comment regarding someone else???s opinion, then you are to put that comment under their opinion and not use it as a way to try and jack up Springbrook Cercle???s ratings. Your suggestion that a tenant should get a house if they are experiencing poor service or value is "typical" of the mentality of the management and staff at Springbrook Cercle. This would indicate a high likelihood that you are a member of the staff, management or ownership. Your statement ???I get a kick out reading the reviews by people who have live at Springbrook for 2,3,4 or even 5 years and said what a living hell it was. If it was that bad, why did you renew your 1 year lease. GET OUT if it sucks that bad???, shows just what cynical and na??ve individual you really are. Obviously, you think that you know what everyone else???s situation is. I???ll simply say that once someone is stuck in a place like Springbrook Cercle, it is not always so ???simple??? to just move somewhere else. That is why there is ApartmentRatings.com, to protect people from insidious places and owners, like Springbrook Cercle and Rob. Got that Rob, Marilyn, Jennifer or whomever else on the payroll submitted this review?

I agree with this last response from viking... I'm sure everyone is glad that you had a wonderful experience living at Springbrook. This website is specifically designed to share your living experiences. However, insulting those who don't share your opinion is just childish. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and everyone's opinion differs based on their individual experiences. If a tenant wanted to take care of the shoveling and other maintenance issues, then yes - that tenant should buy a house & experience it for themselves. However, the tenants at Springbrook Cercle pay a very high rent payment each month so that these things are taken care of. That's why alot of people live in apartments - they don't want the hassle (or expense) of maintenance problems.
It's very easy to suggest that someone should move out when their lease is up. That's just not a reality for some people. It's costly to move, and that money is not always readily available for some tenants. Some residents want their children to stay at the same school or in the same neighborhood, and it may not be so simple to accomplish this if they choose to leave. Some people may have other situations that prevent them from leaving at the end of their lease. But these things are really not the issue here.
Bottom line - If a resident has had a bad experience with Springbrook, then they've had a bad experience. Period. Same goes with a good experience. It's not right for someone to judge why or why not someone is living there.
I am not happy at Springbrook, but I'm waiting to move until my husband is out of school. It's just not feasible for us to move right now. But it doesn't change the fact that this is the worst place I have ever lived in. And I've been living in apartments my whole life. The apartments are beautiful - YES! But the living experience is under-serviced and poorly maintained. That is my opinion.

As you stated...this web site is for people to post their opinions about the experience they had at Springbrook. I guess having lived there for two years and now being a home owner, my opinion does not count. I am not an employee, the owner, or staff at Springbook. I just found this site and decided to throw my two cents in. All I was saying is that I saw people throwing bottles and trash out in the grass and with that said I can only imagine how they treat the inside of their apartment. I would never dream of calling the office to have a guy come over to plunge my toilet for me after I screwed up and used too much paper or didn't flush enough. I would be embarassed.I understand that not everyone can afford a home or they can't afford to move each year to a new place, or they have other reasons they can't pack up and move, but I think I am still entitled to give my opinion. Two years at $850 per month gives me a voice. I don't know what happens over in the tan apartments or in the new places, but the two years I spent in the blue apartments were ok with me. I looked at all the places on the other side of Peutz Rd. and I thought they were far less than the one I ended up living in.Sorry if that raises the ratings to almost 35%!

I'm sorry, but you missed the main point. Your opinions are welcome, just as comments to other posts. Not individual posts. I would expect that if you had a wonderful experience at Springbrook, that you would have already indicated so by an INITIAL posting. That's how reviews, and comments work.
