What a joke, Hidden Oak

The management is the worst I have experienced: not fixing appliances, denying mice infestation (unless it had been their apartment), ignoring overflow of garbage in the dumpsters in the parking garage, and not refunding escrow. After complaining enough, they feel they have the last laugh by not refunding escrow and then charging us $400 more for lies they created about how we left the apartment. This is a court date about to happen so be watching the blogs we started to see where you may be some day if you rent at Hidden Oak, the biggest apartment rental joke in Pleasant Prairie. To all who think they might like to rent at Hidden Jokes, the joke will be on you, once you have signed a lease!

Undoubtedly, some of the buildings are kept in top shape: the ones shown to possible future residents and the mangement who lives in the complex. Obviously, you are not in 8450 or you would know exactly what I mean.

My wife and I left there (8440) over two years ago, and all I can say is I agree with you both from the aspect that the management and the tennants are the worst I'ver ever experienced. The management has successfully created a ghetto in the middle of a corn field.

I live a hidden oaks & I'm going into my 4th yr there . I have personally seen the way that some of the apts are left when residents move out . Some ( trash ) the apts / damage the units. I have suggested to management to give notices on quarterly inspections -- even though it's not low housing , so they can see how the tenants are taking care of the units that they are ( renting ) , you would be surprise @ what you see . Residents -- throw trash inside recy dumpster-- instead of using the trash containers , don't break down boxes when moving in , drop trash in the hallways / garage & just keep walking , to lazy to walk to the dumpster to put trash in from the auto when they ( parked ) .These apts are very spacious\ awesome to live in , it's the residents who has no - respect for whats not there own . I would love to tour some of the apts residents live in , although nothing would suprise me now . Childeren marks on the wallls inside there home , appliances not being cleaned behind , exhaust vents etc . We are the 1's that the complex reflexes on - not management .If you did ( damage ) to your unit , then don't complain about you deposit . There happens to be alot of ( quailty ) in these estate homes . Sometimes if we as residents would just take pride in ( our ) homes / bldgs .......!!

Thank you, Anonymous! You have hit the proverbial nail on the head: a ghetto in the middle of a cornfield! Living in one of the back buildings by the railroad tracks (how fitting) one cannot help but notice how unkept the landscaping is. The closer to the entrance, the lovlier the grounds. Why is that, when the rent is the same whether front or back? The exterior is the least of the trouble, though; with inadequate garbage dumpsters in the parking garage, the overflow of trash onto the ground is horrendous, no matter how conscienscious the tenants are. Trying to get a third dumpster was trying, but the management finally put one down in our building (8450), only to remove it after six months. No wonder there was a petition to get mice under control in this building!

It seems to me that the majority of complaints are stemming from the LACK OF RESIDENT PARTICPATION in keeping the apartment community in a nice, pleasant state. I have lived at Hidden Oak for several years and can say from my own experiences, the residents need to take some responsibility. It is impossible for anyone to keep up with a community that has so many people "trashing" it on a continual basis. It's a community and for a community to survive, it needs a commitment from everyone involved in it. Management does it's part and I know I do mine - but when will the rest of us?
