Estabrook is terrible, plain and simple.The first night I slept here the door handle broke and we were locked in our apartment, tried and tried to call maintence, no answer, hand to end up crawling out the window. What if there was a fire'!' The fix was just to come and take off the door handle declare it ok and put the old one right back on.

Within the first month of living here our plumbing went out, it was a disaster. REFUSED to put us up in a hotel when our bathroom was full of human fecal matter from other apartments. This happened three times in two weeks, they said they fixed it the first time, but didn't. Ended up having to rip up the floor in the second bedroom, dig a six foot hole, and replace the pipe. The best they could do during all of this is let us use the model, but only to shower.

Currently they are using the apartment across from mine as a workshop b/c it is in such a state of disrepair that it can not be rented. I always wake up, come home, and have to deal with saws, hammering, the smell of nasty adhesives used to glue whatever. It is terrible. Have called and complained, nothing has ever been done.

The manager is very, very quick to jump down your throat, she has done nothing but yell at us all the time. She screams at you for anything. I can not tell you the number of times she has called us just screaming her head off. This woman has even come to our door and thrown a temper tantrum like a two year old over something that was not a big deal. Everything that breaks is your fault, no matter what the problem is. An example, plumbing problem was our fault, according to manager,"You guys broke the pipe with tampons". (we had only lived there for three weeks, my GF had not yet had her time of the month)The pipe broke because of tree roots grown into it. I know of at least three apartments that have had the same problems. Our bathtub still does not drain right, always has standing water.

The doors into the hallways of a the apartments are not locked, people are always sleeping in them in the winter. The parking garage used to be locked, but now is totally unsecure, I have also seen homeless people digging in the trash down there.

They also have this policy that we were not aware of. They automatically renew the lease for another year, even though it is not in the lease and just send you a letter basically stating you have no choice. I have a feeling it is illegal, so I have contacted an attorney.

The owner is a total jerk, he lies on the phone that he is not the owner. I have spoke with him before and know I am speaking with the same person. So childish.

I have seen other reviews of how the drug addict maintence man breaks in to apartments, i know this is true because he used to do drugs/ buy them from the guy that used to live above me. It was mostly cocaine, herion and weed. THis place is the ghetto.

STEER CLEAR OF THIS POORLY MAINTAINED, GHETTO AND DANGEROUS APARTMENT COMPLEX, IT WILL ONLY CAUSE YOU PROBLEMS. TRUST ME.

this person is exagerating overall. The part about the maintenance guy is BS. He may be strange, but I never heard of him stealing anything from anybody

i actually have heard this about the maintenance too. and they DO enter your apartment when you aren't aware. I've had them come in while i was in the bathtub or asleep with no notice at all.
