If what you want is a quiet neighborhood and underground parking, then this perhaps is the apartment for you. However, I beg of you to contemplate these things before you sign a lease with these people:

- The manager has absolutely no people skills, including such rudeness as hanging up on your conversation, constantly interrupting if you are trying to discuss anything, accusing of falsities, and jumping to conclusions (because she doesn't let you get a word in in a conversation).
- The apartments have absolutely disgusting carpet that only gets cleaned and never replaced.
- Upon moving out you will be charged for things that are not only NOT your fault but things that you noted on your move in sheet (see comment regarding stained carpets).
- They will enter your apartment without your knowledge, regardless of the fact that your lease (a legal document they pay no attention to) states you have the right to know 12 hours in advance that they'll need access.
- They mess up on dates and somehow hold you responsible for that mistake ... '''

I lived on the east side for 9 years before moving to the suburbs and I had never dealt with such a moronic manager before then. She is crass, she is rude, she sloppy and inconsistent. Shorewood is great, the east side is great but Estabrook Homes is a total joke. Though it's cheap rent, it's not worth the hassle. I am quite certain that there was a mold problem in my apartment that was never addressed after several requests. The parking spots are cramped and the garbage overloads the dumpsters so much is overtakes the adjacent parking space. And who the he(( doesn't recycle these days!!''!

A total disappointment.

yes, I am fully agree with you! The shorewood is nice. The environment is good. But the manager is a totally disaster!!!! She is rude, arrogant and stupid! She doesn't listen to you and always rudely interrupt you during the conversation. Also, if you want to move in, I suggest you take picture for EVERY corner of the apartment: carpet, door, cabinet, kitchen, wall, etc. And when you check out, you should check with them according to the item in the list one-by-one. Even you did that, I am quite sure she will still charge you more than what you should pay! I have stayed in more than six or seven different apartments and dealed with different managers (most of them are very nice people). BUT, the manager in Estabrook is definitely the WORST manager I ever met!!!

i completely agree with you too! she is very defensive, like she has something to hide. i went in to get my security deposit (or a description of what they charged me for) because they never sent it, and she sent me in circles to the even more horrible owner. i am still battling with them months later!
