First, Goldleaf is extremely overpriced for what you get at the "Luxury" Hunters Trail Condo's, Hunters Ridge and Hunters Creek apartments. The apartments are built of the crappiest construction job I have ever seen. They also bought and used the cheapest appliances and materials. The dryer BURNT my clothes on several occasions (there was no lint clogging the exhaust tubes). The dishwasher never worked, half the time the dishes came out dirtier then when they went in. And the rusty prongs left permanent rust marks on almost of my dishes. The head maintenance guy told me personally the dishwasher "was for show (it adds value) and if I wanted clean dishes, I should get used to doing them by hand."

The basement was the worst! We could literally see sunlight filter in through cracks in the cement below the first floor (so the heating bill was crazy)! Every time it rained or the snow melted, our basement floor was soaked. Every single item stored in the basement left with water damage and sometimes mold.

The MOLD came from the basement walls. My 3 cat's coughed the whole year we lived there, and without even telling her, my vet asked if we had mold growing somewhere in the house! And it wasn't just in our apartment. We asked if we could switch apartments, and one of the newer girls that worked in the office told me the whole entire apartment complex had flooded and all of the apartments suffered water damage and still had leaky basements, so moving would be a waste of time.

And then there was the wildlife! Not only did rat's live and die downstairs, but thousands of bugs too. With bugs come spiders... huge spiders and I promise you'll have never seen spiders this big in your whole life.

Top all of this with a unqualified maintenance crew and horrible rude office staff, its just not worth it.

Oh and I can confirm that you will not get your deposit back. They flat out lied and charged us $50 here or $30 there for "water drops (on the shower fixtures!), shaving cream in sink, un-swept floors, etc..." Which was so not fair because we left that place in much better shape then we got it. By law, you have a right to a copy of the move in/move out sheet from the people before you, and they charged the couple before us literally thousands of dollars when they left! Then Goldleaf never fixed some of those problems and then charged us again for those things when we moved out.

The worst part of the whole Goldleaf development experience is that what I wrote above doesn't cover even 10% of the horrible problems we encountered. This just didn't happen to us, I've had different groups of friends that both lived at Hunter's too and they had many problems too. One stranger even overheard me at the Sun Prairie Walmart, and we stood in the middle of the store exchanging unbelievable stories for over an hour about Goldleaf and their nasty apartments. Please stay away.
