This is a great place to live. I love working out, exercising, swimming, etc. I think the people who work here do a very good job of maintaining everything as they work very hard to keep a place like this nice. The landscape design is truly one of the best I've seen. There is high rent because compared to other crappy apartments, you don't get such nice places to live really. I think this is one of the best apartment complexes I've seen honestly. The noise level I have to say is very quiet and that is a big plus as noisy streets are so annoying! I would not hesistate to live here if you're a newcomer. You can trust maintenence people are very dedicated to what they do even if they don't fix it the first time on rare occasions they come back and get the job done!

This review is totally off the mark. FYI you get one free parking space with your apartment, outside and in garage. The staff is friendly and helpful, very easy to get along with. I don't think that the appliances are from 1984, everything that is older and not working to my knowledge is replaced with new ones. I have lived here for 11 years and have never experienced any problems like the ones expressed above. As far as anything that you want changed in the apartment you can have done as long as it is approved through Monterey, you can have it painted any color as long as you pay for the paint and then they will come in and paint for you. You can request to have your blinds taken off. Monterey is very accomidating as far as redecorating is concerned. The managers and maintainence staff are very friendly and polite. You rarely hear of apartment complex throwing parties to celebrate holidays for the residents. It is a nice place to live and I would recommend it.
