DON'T LIVE HERE!!!!!
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 5/14/2004
Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2002
I lived here for 3 years. The buildings are old, outdated, and ugly. The walls and ceilings are made of cinder block, making the place feel like a jail. The stairwells smell like a barn, and are always filthy. The owner is a complete jerk who treats his tenants (who provide him with his multi million dollar income by the way) like dirt. On top of that, you have to pay for a parking permit each semester. Why' I don't know, because none of that money seems to go to actually maintain the parking surfaces other than plowing in the winter. If you enjoy smelly old buildings, being treated like an inferior being, ugly and depressing decor, and paying WWWWAAAAAYYYY too much for rent, this is the place for you. Oh yeah, and don't be fooled by the "gift", which is nothing more than a "T-1" connection that is constantly on the fritz.
Since DLK owns just about every rental property in Whitewater, you're better off to look elsewhere for a place to live. Other DLK properties to avoid (this is a partial list): The Regent/New Regent, Cambridge.
There are numerous other DLK owned properties in Whitewater so be sure to ask who the owner is before you sign the lease.
Fort Atkinson, Jefferson, or Janesville offer much nicer alternatives. Trust me, the commute is worth it.
By the way, rent is charged per semester.
