Hmmm...you can decide

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
Ok, where do I begin' When my husband and I first went to look at the apartments we were shown a model apartment that had all new everything, we were satified with what we saw, I asked the person doing the showing if our apartment was IDENTICAL to the model, they said yes. Moving day came, and we couldn't find the landlord! Apartmently the landlord had forgotten we were moving that day, so, we had to call her up on her cellphone, drive to her 2nd job and pick up the keys for the apartment! When we got there....we were in for a shock! It was a flashback to the 70's! Nothing looked new in the apartment. The kitchen floor was mustard yellow and brown linolium that had stains on it, our toilet was old and not working, the only thing that looked nice was the carpet (thank goodness).
We had an issue with your move in checklist NOT getting completed. We went through the ENTIRE summer before they installed the screen in our spare bedroom window! It got so warm in there because we couldn't open the window because bugs and who knows what else would have came in. Our toilet was not working properly when we moved in, it took two weeks to get it looked at, found out we needed a new toilet and got that installed. Then, our new toilet wasn't installed properly, we had a small flood in our bathroom for 2 WEEKS, we had to keep towels around the toilet to help sop up the water, so the maintenance man had to come and fix what the other guy had done (not the maintenance man's fault either, he came the day he received the work order).
Shortly there after we got new neighbors above us. They were the reason we left! They were terribly loud, so loud that they would drown out the tv! Things in our home would fall off the walls because the child upstairs kept running around. We TRIED to handle the situation ourselves numorous times before we called management, and still the tenants did not stop.
Noise was defenitally a problem here for us, we could even hear our neighbors "making" when we were in the living room watching tv! Tenant's children would go down in the basement and run around at all hours...we could hear everything!
Parking was terrible, tenant's visitors would take up most of the stalls, and our car was broken into three times! The parking lot is next to a house that ALWAYS has lots of teenagers hanging outside, that gets pretty annoying, especially when they hang out in the parking lot. The entrance into the parking lot was crappy, our car would always scrape the pavement, no matter how slow we went.
The grass gets cut, but the entry way to the apartments is gross, you can't use the side doors, only the front doors, and the front step had nasty cigarette buds and gum everywhere.
Overall, the apartments are nice size, but the managment isn't so great, nor the neighbors. However, the location is nice. If fixed up, and more wisely chosen tenants, these apartments would be a great place to live.
