I rent a apartment at 58 campus dr, was unloading stuff there sept 3rd for my sons apartment, was there for 15 mins and my yukon had been towed, If you rent apartment you should get a parking place or at least you should be able to unload things into your apartment

Towing is extremely common in Morgantown, as there is a parking shortage. Towing is a necessity to keep spaces open for those that have purchased them. Private lots are patrolled by various towing companies on a routine basis throughout town, and if a car doesn't have identification that it belongs in a certain spot; it is towed automatically. Management of an apt. complex doesn't necessarily have to call to have a vehicle towed; if the towing company in charge of a particular area spots a vehicle that doesn't belong, they simply tow it. And the very large incentive is money. The apt. company (if they are legit) does not receive any funds from the tow company. This practice is not selective to Mel Friend or the Campus Drive apts.; it is used throughout the city. To post negative reviews about someone's business because you did not follow the general parking rules of the city "ask before you park or get towed" shows your own ignorance to those using this site for a research tool. Furthermore, you have a lot to learn as a paying parent at WVU if you believe that just because you rent an apt. you "should get a parking place". Parking is at a premium in town and if you receive a free space with your rental, you are a fortunate small minority. And no, I'm not affiliate with Mel Friend Rentals in any way; I am just educated on the local parking "problems" as a former grad.
