Sure, you get free tanning, gym, pool, hot tub, etc. included in your rent, but it's still not worth it. There is only 2 tanning beds and they close pretty early, so it's hard to get in. I signed a lease in July and they told me that the pool would be ready in about a week... it wasn't. The pool wasn't even finished when I moved in right before classes started and then the hot tub was broken for a month. They said that the hot tub would be open year round, however after it broke and they fixed it and it broke again, they just put a cover on it. They also lied to me and my parents about the bus service. We were told that they were going to have their own private DISTRICT bus that would run to the Lair for classes and then also a Mountainline bus that would take you to the PRT. The first day of classes I asked about the other bus and they said that they realized that it wasn't possible to make trips to the Lair because of traffic... uh, DUH! But when I was taking my tour the guy told me all about how their private bus would run and make a circle downtown so that you could get off at either the LSB, Lair, or Beechurst. The Mountainline bus does run late at night downtown so you can go to the clubs, but it stops running at 2. Also, the last Mountainline run from the Hospital PRT back to the District is 9 PM, so if you are LUCKY like me and have a class that lasts until 8:45, plan on driving because you will not make it to the Hospital PRT station by 9. Another thing that I hate is how all the residents of the apartment share one mailbox. I had a ------ roommate at first who would do crazy little vendictive things like steal my magazines and throw away our mail. But if your roommate is normal, it shouldn't be a problem for ya. THE MOST ANNOYING part about living here is the fact that the maintenance men can just walk into your apartment whenever they please. They give a short tap type knock and before you have time to sprint from your room to the door, they are unlocking the door. I've been caught TWICE while changing. I mean, they tapped on the door and walked in before I had the chance to step out of my bathroom and push closed my room door. They also don't apologize or LEAVE when they walk into your apartment and you are standing there in a towel. For a woman, it's a pretty scary experience, let me tell you. I came out of the shower, wraped a towel around me and went to adjust the heat in the hall and there was a mexican guy standing in my kitchen. I didn't know if he worked for The District or anything. I screamed, asked him what he was doing, which was pointless because he couldn't understand me, and ran back to my room. Eh, it's funny now, but it's not when it happens right then. The District boasts about how each roomie can lock his/her door so that their valuables are kept safe, HOWEVER, my roomie that left in December had her piggy bank of change stolen (lol) as well as her TI83 calculator, and 2 of my friends have had jewelry stolen from their rooms. The District will NEVER admit that it was one of their people, but we never leave without locking our doors. It's kind of hard to protect your stuff when you have 5409834590 illegal immagrents walking around with keys to your apartment anyway, ya know'''' The apartment as a whole was a disaster when we moved in. I couldn't move much in on my assigned move in day because all of the walls in my room were wet. Only 1 out of the 3 of us had her toilet installed. Mine was sitting by my bed when I moved in and my other roommate got accused of breaking hers that was sitting in the middle of her bathroom broken when she walked in. Our dishwasher didn't work, our washer leaked, our toilets STILL don't flush after being worked on about 6 times, we have to turn our heat up to 85/90 just to get the place warm (not joking at all), my bathtub has a hole and a crack in it that they have fixed twice now. Oh but the most fun was not having water for 4 days when we moved in (and they shut it off all the time from like 9 am to 2 pm... the time when most need to get ready for class), and the time that my roommate had poop floating in her toilet that wasn't hers when she got back from class because the plumbing here sucks. The parking isn't a total nightmare nor is it adequate... if you are trying to find a space to park in after about 6:30, you are pretty much out of luck. A LOT of people let their friends park here illegaly because they don't have parking at their apartments.
