I am a resident of apartment 2843, the one with the mold/mushroom problem. I would like to say that I DO NOT HAVE MOLD INDUCED ASTHMA, and my roommates did not have my permission to include me in their posting. They claim to all be sick, but this was not even until AFTER the mold was cleaned up. I think you would be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't have a mild cough in the winter. It sounds to me like they simply want out of rent or out of their lease, who knows.
Did we have mushrooms grow in our apartment' Yes, as gross as it sounds. Did maintenance come up and replace all drywall and carpet padding affected' Yes. A mold test was also completed about a month after all of this, and it came back negative. This all resulted from a leak within our wall, we were not aware of this so there was no way that maintenance could have been.
Furthermore, I was the only one in the apartment when maintenance took care of the mold, so my roommates have no idea what was even there. They have complained about all aspects of the District since they moved in simply because they want to live downtown, I say GO!
