Appletree apartments rent is based on total family income. You must have at least 2 children to be able to move into these apartments. All apartments are 2-story, have 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths (except for the three handicap apts), comes with all appliances, has tile flooring in all rooms (no carpet), no washer/dryer hookups, and a motel-style air conditioner in the kitchen.
The apartment complex is family oriented with two playgrounds at either end and a basketball court. Appletree also has a small community room that can be rented for parties, etc. The property manager lives off-site and is usually only available by phone, though she does show up on most tuesdays and friday afternoons.
The property is located inside the town limits of Sophia, WV, so that is where the utilities come from (all utilities are paid for by renter).
The local cable company is Charter http://www.charter.com/ who also provides broadband internet if you will need it.
The phone services come from Verizon only http://www22.verizon.com/ .
There are plenty of churches, schools and shopping within a 10 mile radius of Appletree Apartments so there is plenty to do here.
If you have any questions about Appletree Apartments feel free to email me at hillbilly1968@yahoo.com . I am just a regular tenant here, so I believe I can give honest comments about the complex.

wow that is amazing that you can get housing for the cheap. these apartments show that they really care about people and there well being. i would recommend a washer/dryer hookups but is there on site washer/dryer instead?

Since my original post back in 2003 we have had a lot of changes to the apartment complex. New tile, windows and central heat/ac have been just a few of the recent updates. There is still an ongoing drug problem here in which law enforcement is working to get rid of. There is a small laundry room located behind the office but it is constantly being vandalized by some tenants. If you are interested in living here just contact the Raleigh County Housing Authority in Beckley, WV at (304)-255-5164
