If I had another option, I'd live anywhere else

I moved in early in January of 2005 and have been sorry ever since.
As stated in other reviews, there are few if any other rental choices in this area, so the "captive audience" has to take what it can get.
Security has become an issue very early for me. There is no lock on the front door to the building and I found an OPENED UPS package addressed to me in a storage area in my building. Someone had apparently removed it from my doorstep to see what was inside.
My apartment has been poorly constructed and poorly maintained. The countertops are stained, the carpet has red paint spots on it and the furnace filter (which I have to replace myself) was missing. I'm 6'2" and the showerhead is at about 5'6" They must have saved a huge amount of money on each 12" of pipe they didn't use in construction.
The walls and ceiling are very thin and, worst of all, I have noisy, inconsiderate upstairs neighbors. The neighbors ignore me when I ask for some respite from the noise. I've spoken with the office (Eileen) and she said I could move to another apartment at my own expense.
Very considerate
