Seriously Worth Considering

Built in 1998 in a great location, the Mountainside Apartment Complex offers close proximity to several shopping areas, banks, convenience stores, as well as several schools. Including Laramie County Community College (LCCC). Of these worth mentioning specifically is a Wells Fargo, Safeway, Walmart and the main post office.

Noise in the complex wasn't a major issue for me. Living on the intersection of two major roads (College Drive and Pershing Blvd.) there's going to be traffic noise, but it's fairly limited. As far as neighbors go, the entry doors of the units self-close and occasionally you hear a door slam. Other than that, I seldom heard my neighbors.

The Grounds are kept fairly well. a small grass embankment near the mail boxes apparently is reserved for dogs. other than that, garbage is kept to a minimum, and trails are well maintained and lit. There is a small playground for children. as well as a pool and basket ball court.

The overall Construction of the complex is well layed out. Layouts include 1 bed/1 bath. 2 bed/1 bath and 3 bed/2 bath. I noticed a few places where trim paint wasn't perfect. But that's about it.

Maintanence was awesome! The third day I was there I had completed a report on what kind of damage I found in the apartment as proof so they woulnd't charge me for it. No more than 15 minutes had gone by before maintanence came to my unit to check over some of the major items listed. One thing they fixed instantly was the dining room window screen.

The Office Staff was great. We had spent lots of time on the phone before move in and they answered all of my questions, and both members of the office staff knew my name before I knew theres. It wasn't just to move me in either. They continued to help me if I needed it.

Parking. hmm. They only allow one parking space per unit. So if you have more than one car you can park in a guest stall, but not consistantly. You have to keep switching spots. You also have the option of parking just outside the property on N. College Drive. Garage bays are also available for an additional charge.

Included with rent is garbage, water, and sewage. Units include a wall air-conditioner, as well as a dual mode central air system with a "cool" setting. works better than I thought! Although in the evenints it seemed to get noticably warm in the living room. Perhaps insulation could be better.

Community Services aren't too bad. A moderately sized laundry room has in-wall dryers and several washers, as well as a single large capacity washer. They aren't very smart, however, and liquids need to be added individually through the cycles. Only other thing I recall is not having a coin machine. There's a convenience store across the road if youre lacking quarters. If you have the money, however. There are washer/dryer connections in the units!!

Fitness Center is pretty well equipped, but I think a few more bikes/treadmills would be a bonus. Fitness Center also has a sauna. There's also a pool and a small TV room.

The major thing that bothered me, however, is that the laundry and fitness centers aren't open 24 hours. That would be my preference.

One more major thing to mention, as I fell victim to it. If you have a roomate, make sure that bills and jobs are worked out accordingly. This Apartment Complex has income restrictions! If you don't mind capping your finances for at least the first 6 months, it's a great place to live!

2005 -Not all doors close by themselves as our apartment house doesn't have that problem. Evenings in the living room aren't bad at all. We have a 3 bedroom apartment and they include a wall air conditioner in the kitchen area and in the master bedroom. I agree that it would be great if the fitness center was open longer. Albertsons isn't very far away along with a connection to the greenway.
