Resident 2013 - 2015

2/18/2015

I have lived in 5 or 6 different apartments in the Charleston/Summerville area and these were by far the worst. I was one of the first residents and stayed for 18 months. It seems like the lowest bidder built the apartments. The AC didn't even work upon move-in. Maintenance said they weren't hooked up right. All of the roofs had to be replaced after less than a year probably for the same reasons. The apartments are crammed together to fit people like sardines. ******The parking spaces are the biggest problem. They can barely fit small cars in them. Several cars have been hit, mine included. You can see so for yourself. There's no way they meet the minimum standard width. ***This needs to be addressed.*** We were asked to pay a pet fee upon moving in and we did. We then were asked an additional three times, which was frustrating. They recently sent out a notice telling residents that they have to bring in their dogs for DNA testing so that they can test dog poop to see who isnt cleaning up after their pets. I have never heard of any apartment complex doing this. Maybe more dog waste stations would help because they are pretty scarce. We had a hole in our door for our porch that mosquitoes and bugs kept coming through. I notified them of this on our move-in walkthrough report and at least 3 more times and it was never taken care of. We were the first ones to live in this apartment. The pool is where parents send their kids to get them out of their hair with no supervision. There can be children under 10 with no parents at any given time in the summer. The quality of residents greatly slipped for a while. It was pretty ------ like the other poster said, but it did get a little better. Walmart's delivery trucks back up right next door and you can hear them at all hours, even overnight. We put in multiple maintenance requests and never even received a response. We had to do a lot of repairs ourselves. A big red flag is the employee turnover in the office. They have changed staff multiple times already. Avoid this place at all costs.
