Resident 2013 - 2014

6/23/2014

The surroundings are pretty much the only thing that I loved. Being able to see deer and little frogs in the summer and the cows is what I enjoyed We lived here for a year, we couldn't wait to move out. My husband and I live pretty much by the rules, were easy going like that and when we are told that we couldn't do something or park somewhere (like my husbands work truck that we asked in advance) and then seen other renters do the same thing we were just told that we couldn't do, that's not right. The rules should be enforced to everyone. This complex allows dogs but isn't very dog friendly. Dogs bark, if the owner is not there during the day (because they are working to pay the rent) then obviously its not something that the renter can correct. I started putting the dogs in the bedroom, never got a complaint after that until someone moves in 2 doors down with a big dog who barked non stop. Barely got the words out of my mouth to my husband that our dogs would get blamed for that dog's barking. Also, I would suggest that Tammy work on her customer service, tact and empathy. Some people may disagree but We have never felt so insulted with a property manager as we have with her. Looking down her nose at us. We work hard for our money, and we CHOSE to rent at this complex. When it came time to renew our 2nd 6 month lease in June we had spoken to Tammy's assistant Paula who informed us that we could add on the couple of days we had left in August to Septembers rent. We were shocked at the beginning of August when we were told that we were going to get slapped with a 10% late fee because we weren't paid in full. I explained to Tammy what Paula Said and she said, you were misinformed you need to pay or you will get a late fee. She had her check the following morning. When we finally decided to move out and my husband had gotten a new job we had to wait till our lease was up till so that we could submit our 30 day notice, or submit a 60 day while in our lease. We are originally from out of state and never heard of such a thing, so we ended up having to stay an extra month, an extra $100+ more later. When we moved out we cleaned the place, vacuumed, everything that was on the checklist, except for the ceiling fans, we forgot that. We emailed Tammy, told her of our forwarding address and asked when we should receive our deposit back and how much it would be. We finally get our mere $59.00 deposit back and on the move out checklist is listed heavy pet urine, really? I walked my dogs 3-4 times a day, one dog even has a diaper and I receive this bs? Pet Odor was also listed but I believe that came from the vacuum. Did it really cost $700 to replace the carpets, especially when the original carpet started to come undone the first day we moved in? Not to mention the $100.00 Redecorating Fee, don't know what that's about since there is nothing to redecorate. READ your leases carefully. I could go on about our experiences there but I will leave it at that. This place looked real promising to us, too bad it wasn't that.
