Resident ā€¢ 2011

2/26/2011

The staff is the worst! The office staff has talked down to me, been lied to me and my requests have been ignored more times than I can count. It is unsafe here for more than one reason. The foundation of the building in which I live is coming apart. There is a crevice in the ground outside of the stairwell that is getting deeper and wider every time it rains. There are cracks in the structure walls and ceilings, and the floor is buckling in the apartments in this building. I have complained, and continue to get lies and the run-around with promises that it's being looked into. The parking lot had water bubbling up out of the ground for almost 1 year. When I physically went into the office and spoke with the manager about it, someone came out and scraped up the blacktop @ 3 weeks later. That's as far as it went, until about 2 months later. It's ALL TRUE about the notices being put on the doors about violent crime in this complex. Yet, I have been complaining about the outside lighting, to no avail, for over 2 years! The backs of many buildings face the golf course, so it gets pretty dark at night. The stairwell lights (Someone could have tripped and broken their neck...or been shot...and God forbid if there was a fire and everyone was rushing to get out in the dark!), the floodlights and the "lollipop" lights (creating a perfect environment for criminal activity) were all out (for over 2 weeks in one instance). I gave up on trying to get resolution by going through the office staff. I looked up the corporate address (email) for Milestone Mgmt, and told them about the issues. That was the only way to get the issues resolved. Each time I contacted corporate, the issues would be resolved immediately! Once, after office hours, I had to call the answering service. The man who answered said he would call maintenance (who is in turn supposed to call the resident). The man from the answering service called me back in less that 3 minutes. He said that the maintenance guy told him to tell me that he wasn't coming out here at night! Oh, but we're supposed to live in an unsafe environment? What kind of operation is this? When I moved in I was told that we could have an exterminator come out within 1 week by placing a request. I placed one. No one ever came out. I placed a request again the next week and purposely stayed home all day to wait for the exterminator. The management office closes at 6PM, so I knew that the exterminator would have to come out before that time in order to do the job and return the keys to the office. By 5PM, when they had not shown up yet, I called the office. I was first told that the exterminator DID come to my apartment, and was (by the time I called) gone for the day. The woman said that he had finished and left at 2:00PM. I had to call the girl on that lie, since I had not left my apartment all day. Then she said that she "meant" that the exterminator didn't get to Nashboro Village until 2:00PM, but that I was not on the list for that day. I called her on that lie too. (I had confirmed with the management office that morning that I WAS, IN FACT on the list for the exterminator.) Then she put me on hold for @ 10 minutes and returned with yet another lie. She said that I WAS on the list, but they couldn't find my apartment keys. I then proceeded to inquire about my safety and privacy if my supposedly "secured" keys were missing from their office? She then told me that I had placed another maintenance request and the maintenance man had my key. I called her once again! I did NOT have a request in except for the exterminator. She finally said she was going to put her supervisor on. (The person who came on the line was NOT the supervisor.) However, this person proceeded to say that they DID have my keys and the exterminator would be out to my apartment. I asked "When?" and she said "Before the day was over.". At 9PM, when no one had come to my apartment and I had wasted an entire day, I sent an email to the corporate office with all of the details of this fiasco, including the time references. The next morning at 7:45AM I received a call from the REAL office manager. She stated that she had put in an emergency call to "Terminex" and someone would be out to exterminate my apartment that morning. She tried to place the blame on everyone but her staff. I took exception to that, and told her that at her next office meeting she needed to explain to her staff that they have jobs because of the tenants and they had better realize that and govern themselves accordingly! While we were still on the phone the exterminator showed up. These were just 2 of the dozens of examples that I could share about the incompetent, lazy, rude ignorance that I have had to deal with since moving in here. My classes will be over in May and I will be moving when my lease is up. Does anyone know of a GOOD place to rent an apartment in Nashville??? In summary, Nashboro Village is NOT a good place to live. It is unsafe (both because of criminal behavior as well as property maintenance--I also firmly believe that there is a possible health hazard from the water here; I am currently having samples checked by experts). For your best interest and safety LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE for an apartment!!!
