NOT a Safe Place to Live

If you are considering an apartment in the Arlington/Kennedale area, it would be wise to stay away from the Parks at Treepoint community. The apartments are nice enough, but many of the tenants are of questionable character. Gangstas hang out in the parking lots and congregate at stairs and in front of their apartments. They are found in groups drinking at all times of the day and night, create a lot of noise and commotion, and cause and bring crime to the community. There is very minimal security here, especially for the community to be so large. There are only two security officers, one per shift, and they are expected to oversee 29 acres.

My husband and I have been here only two weeks and our car has already been broken into and ruined. The back passenger window was busted, the hood popped, and the battery cut-out, cables and all. The car was parked directly in front of our building. When we brought the incident to the apartment managers attention, all she could say was that it was our fault for not having an alarm system on the car and that it was a large parking lot. She continued to say that shes been an apartment manager for many years and that this sort of thing happens all the time. (This leaves me to believe that she doesnt run a very tight community and has become apathetic to all security issues). Crime doesnt have an area code, she continued, and she swore that she runs 100-year background checks on everyone that applies for an apartment. As my husband pressed the issue, she became more irritated with us, rather than at the actual problemshe allows bad people and crime into her apartments.

Sure, the car had seen better days, but were not making much money or we wouldnt be here in these apartments. We cant afford to repair all the damage. Whats next? Are our gangsta neighbors going to break into our apartment or mug us in the parking lot? According to the management of Parks at Treepointthats our problem and they are not willing to remedy the situation anytime soon. So, if you are looking for a quiet, safe community--or if you have childrenI would advise against making the Parks at Treepoint your new home.
