Resident 2008 - 2009

11/18/2012

I lived at the Trestles of Austin a few years ago, and I wouldn't recommend this property to anyone who wants structure, safety, and professionalism. When I first went into the office, the property seemed to be well kept, and everyone was very helpful and friendly. Seeing the fact that I was fresh out of the United States Army and well-disciplined- I informed them that I would want somewhere that would hold up to certain standards. They agreed that it will. But soon after I moved in, it all changed. The cops where always asking me have I seen certain people dressed a certain way walking around the property. And when I come home from work, I do not need to know that there are criminals roaming around free all the time. From the cops looking for criminals; the gates always broken into; the drug trafficking; the prostitutes working; illegals living there; the unprofessionalism from the office; etc - I just couldn't wait until the end of my lease. So that I could move to a safer place. I gave the required "30 day prior notice" to move out as informed. And when it was time for me to turn in my keys, I noticed a different manager there. She informed me that the prior manager was no longer there, and that she could not find my 30 day notice letter due to all of the paperwork that was moved around and signed over for, and that i could put in my notice at "THAT" time. I refused and left, leaving the key on the desk. Months later, I find out that they charged me with a broken lease and damages done to the apartment due to homeless people breaking in and doing drugs and drinking in the apartment. Come to find out from an apartment locator- He informed me that TRESTLES OF AUSTIN filed for bankruptcy, and were only trying to collect rent and overcharge people. I do "NOT" recommend this place to anyone! I'm just glad that I have good rental history after this horrible place- so that I can be provided another chance at applying somewhere that I would not be ashamed of calling HOME. -Henry Hall
