I loved it here. I knew all (and even liked some) of my neighbors; they never bothered me, nor I them. Sure, there are children running around after school, some of whom are less-than-well-supervised by their parents, but they never gave me any trouble. Besides, unsupervised children running around is a sign of poor parenting, NOT poor management. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful (and, in some cases, nice to look at -- it's always nice to have a pretty face help you with the generally stressful stuff that you go into a management office to deal with), at least in so far as I dealt with them. The phones were answered promptly in the office, and the maintenance crew responded just as quickly to service requests. If the staff (maintenance or office) was busy, they would usually inform me of such and offer an apology for the delay, which was never unbearably long. To be clear, I lived at Forest Park because it was cheap and accessible. I was living on a limited budget, and it was close to school. I did not expect plush accommodations, and my expectations were confirmed when I moved in; at least, it certainly wasn't the penthouse at the Ritz. Nonetheless, after a few years at Forest Park, I can't say I had any more (or fewer) complaints there than I would have had at another complex with similar pricing. What I can say, though, is that the staff are definitely well worth the price of admission. I may not have lived at the Ritz, but I certainly found the service to be first-class; something that really DID surprise me about moving into an income-restricted community.
